Asset health: sewer collapses
We have more than 35,000 kilometres of sewer in our region that transport sewage from homes and businesses to our sewage treatment works.
From time to time a sewer collapse will happen which risks causing disruption to customers and environmental pollution.
A sewer collapse or instances of blockages are a good indicator of the health of our wastewater infrastructure and helps us to identify if we are failing to maintain our sewers
The increasing trend indicates we are not maintaining the asset health of our sewers to the standard needed
To ensure we provide a consistent and stable service to current and future generations it is important that we maintain the health of our sewer network.
